Blacktide has his name from the waves of disintegration energy he can release from his body. He also has an aura around him that disintegrates anything solid that might hit him.
When Blacktide's powers manifested they caused a burst that killed his parents at their breakfast table. Because of that, Blacktide hates shaking hands or any personal contact for fear of killing them.
Blacktide's powers are under better control so long as he remains mystically bonded with his partner Nyhtwulf. Even so, he refuses to let anyone else get very close to him.
Blacktide has another power he uses very rarely as it's even more dangerous. He can cause limited areas of implosion. The disasterous side effect is when he "let's go" of an imploded area and it explodes. An object the size of a golf ball can destroy a car. A car can wipe out a city block.
Blacktide cannot disintegrated liquids or gasses and his aura does not stop energy blasts or fire.
Blacktide and Nyhtwulf are very close friends and very protective of each other. Blacktide has street smarts that may allow him to act at a MNT of 4 in serious situations.
